I've decided to do the A to Z Blogger Challenge this year. In case you are unfamiliar with the A to Z Blogger Challenge, the rules are pretty simple. Blog every day in April and have your blog posts follow an A to Z theme. I've decided to recommend five books each day in April. Each days recommendations will be in the same genre and the genre's will follow an alphabetical pattern. So today, B is for Boy. Here are my five favorite boy books.
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie - This is one of my all time favorite books. It's laugh out loud funny and gut wrenching depressing all on the same page. Not only teenage boys can love this amazing book, but boys girls men and women of all ages can fall in love with Junior as they follow his struggle for self understanding.
Sleeping Freshman Never Lie by David Lubar - Being a nice guy struggling to make his way through his freshman year of high school isn't always an easy thing. In this humorous read, Lubar perfectly illustrates the real life struggles that teenage boys deal with. Honestly, I think teenage girls should read this book too. They're all boy crazy anyway, spending a few hundred pages inside a boys head should be both insightful and entertaining.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky - Like Sleeping Freshman, this is an honest book about a typical teenage boy. It's funny and captivating and definitely worth reading. Even if I do have an X chromosome, I couldn't help but love the characters in this wonderful book.
Marcelo in the Real Worth by Francisco X Stork - In addition to being a teenage boy, Marcelo also has Asperger's syndrome. This gripping read follows Marcelo's journey as he steps out of his comfort zone to solve a mystery and lead a more traditional teenage life.
Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson - Many of Anderson's more girl centric reads are quite popular, but she can also write a compelling male character. Twisted deals with many of the pressures real life boys encounter. When I attended a reading of Anderson's a few years ago (for Forge) there were almost as many teenage boys in the audience as there were teenage girls. All the boys were there with copies of Twisted they wanted Anderson to autograph. Which just goes to prove, when great writers chose to write great books about teenage boys, boys will read them. What about you? What's your favorite boy book?

Of these, I've only read THE ABSOLUTELY TRUE DIARY (which I loved!). Your other selections sound awesome as well, especially TWISTED.
My favorite male-narrated book is BOY TOY by Barry Lyga. It's intense and disturbing, but incredibly well-written.
I haven't read any of these, but I'll have to make sure I remedy that. My favourite male MC books would have to be THE MAZE RUNNER series by James Dashner and ENDER'S GAME by Orson Scott Card.
I've read (and LOVED) Marcelo and wallflower. They def make my fav boy book list!
What a great idea!! I love hearing about new books people can recommend.
I'm saving Ender's Game for my S is for Science Fiction day. I am a little embarassed to admit I haven't read The Maze Runner or Boy Toy yet. Both have been on my TBR list for a while now. There are so many great books in this world and so little time to read them all.
going back a ways but probably the hardy boys
I really have to read PERKS--especially since my agent is such a fan. :)
I really want to read TWISTED and MARCELO. I've been meaning to add these to the TBR pile forever. Awesome "B" btw :D
